About Me
Modern Medicine Saves Lives Every Day

I have had diabetes my entire life, and I am very thankful for the fact that modern medical discoveries have helped me live a happy, healthy life despite my disease. I have had to watch what I eat and take medications daily for most of my life, and while i used to feel like I was "missing out" when other children were able to eat sugary candy and I wasn't, I eventually learned that sugar-free candy tastes great. I am always keeping up on the latest diabetes research, and while researching, I have also learned about many other diseases and ailments and how they are treated and controlled. I know others are too busy to browse a bunch of medical websites, like I like to do, so I decided to start a blog that others can visit that contains information on a variety of medical topics all in one place!

If you play tennis or golf, work with your hands, or even spend most of your day typing, you may find that your elbows become tight and sore quite often. Usually, this soreness can be attributed to a tendon or muscle injury. Beyond that, you can incorporate one or more of the following exercises into your routine in order to strengthen and stretch your elbows.

Having this person in your life and available to talk to 24 hours a day, seven days a week can be instrumental in helping you to avoid relapsing. Without a sponsor, it can be easy to feel alone and be tempted to revert to old habits — which will wipe out the positive progress that you made during your treatment program.

    20 March 2018

When your child reaches the toddler years, he or she becomes better able to communicate with you, so it's a little easier to tell when he or she is under the weather. Still, it's not always obvious whether your child has a mild ailment or is seriously ill. A good guideline is to take your child in for prompt medical treatment if he or she displays any of the following signs.

  • Is Your Teen Skipping School? Here's Why A Doctor Visit Is Important

    29 January 2018

It can be a shock when a teacher or administrator from your teenager's school contacts you to say that your teen's attendance has been lacking — especially if your teen has indicated that he or she is always present in class. While discipline from the school may be forthcoming, and you may seek to provide your own disciplinary measures, you should also keep in mind that there may be a potentially concerning reason for your teen's truancy.

  • Times To Consider Having A Port Wine Stain Lightened

    6 December 2017

When you have a child who has a port wine stain, you'll want to regularly visit a pediatrician or your family doctor so that he or she can assess this birthmark. Although it's usually harmless, a port wine stain can lead to various issues, such as eye issues if it's too close to the eyes. Otherwise, this form of birthmark is something that your child will learn is just part of him or her, and you want to empower the child to know that he or she isn't abnormal because of this mark.
